The Grizzly brand may not be as popular as Delta or WEN. However, this is likely to change in the years to come. Models like the G0555 are giving the brand a lot of attention for all the right reasons.

This is my favorite band saw because it offers plenty of great features, yet it still comes at an affordable price point.

We cannot describe this as a gigantic machine, although its 14” design allows it to handle thicker stocks. This is a key feature that makes it better for rips and intricate cuts than a tabletop saw. However, this is still not a “pro” bandsaw. It is somewhere in between a professional unit and one that is ideal for a hobbyist.

Another aspect that gives this model some serious bragging rights is the quality of its build. It features a robust cast iron frame, and its table is also made of cast iron. We were, however, quick to notice that the wheels are made of aluminum. This is not necessarily a turn off because they are computer cast and balanced.

As long as the correct blade is installed, this machine is engineered to impress you. It is a real workhorse that excels when cutting metal, wood, and a range of other materials. We must also mention that setting up the unit is relatively easy, and the motor is quieter than expected of a 14” machine.

Some of the impressive features include a 4” dust port, upper and lower blade guides with ball bearings, and quick-release blade tension lever. This machine also comes with a fence and a miter gauge for enhanced precision.

4. Shop Fox W1706 14" Bandsaw
